NEW STUDENT PICK-UP LOCATION
Dear Parents & Students who Car-ride: In efforts for continual improvement on Safety at Craven Early College (CEC), we are asking your help in improving our process in how students are picked up in the afternoons from our school. Currently, students who are picked up by their parents in private vehicles have been doing so at the fountain area out at the front of the college. Security, law enforcement, and the administration have come to realize that this is a high traffic area, and becomes congested very easily. This presents an unsafe situation for your child and CEC student when being picked-up, and would be a major problem if we had an emergency situation here on campus. Therefore, we are asking parents who pick up their child from school, please do so in the following new location. New Location: The new location will be the side parking lot of the Bosch Siemens Manufacturing Building. You can reach this building by taking the second right after you come off of Glenburnie Drive onto Craven Community College campus. After you take that second right, the Bosch Siemens building will be the last new building on the left. Please continue around the curve to enter the side parking lot of Bosch Siemens. The front of the Bosch Siemens building is where the buses come in, please do not enter there. Note: There will be faculty and staff members that will be directing you on the first day of this change. Please be on the look-out for those traffic directors as you come onto campus. We will be starting this new student pick-up process on Tuesday, Feb. 3rd 2009. The new process for picking up students is for pick-up only. You may still drop your child off at the fountain area in the morning. In the morning, cars have come in very staggered, and thus we have seen no reason to change anything with our morning drop-off. Lastly, we thank you for your help and cooperation in keeping your child safe. CEC is committed to providing a safe and inviting school. Respectfully, Daniel Colvin Dean of Craven Early College
